Although facial proportions vary by ethnicity, gender and age, a weak chin can result in facial disharmony.
Enlarging the chin can be used to change the proportions of the nose to the rest of the face, in men it can be used to create a more masculine appearance. Also enlarging the chin may correct age changes and define the jawline.
Traditionally these were corrected by placement of a chin implant, but at RevivaMed our experienced injectors also use a number of different fillers to improve the shape of your chin.
A chin implant may be placed through an incision below the chin or inside the mouth. This can be performed under local anesthesia in the office or in combination with another facial procedure, such as a rhinoplasty. A chin implant provides more permanent correction. Dr. Samimi utilizes a different types of chin implants and will choose the correct type and shape based on your expectations and facial anatomy.
Fillers may be used to provide a non-surgical, minimally invasive chin augmentation. The length of correction depends on the type of filler used. Chin augmentation using fillers requires advanced training and only experienced injectors should be performing this. All of our injectors at RevivaMed have been trained in this technique and have extensive experience in advanced injection techniques.
